RANGE
Immersive Audiovisual Installation, 2008
RANGE is a generative audiovisual installation that fluctuates between abstract and realistic forms.
The work is staged within an extremely limited virtual space. Trapped figures, with barely any room to move, act as one ambiguous mass.
In contrast to the claustrophobic virtual space, in the actual installation space an ultra wide angle video projector floods the walls, floor and ceiling of the exhibition space to transform the entire environment into a single living canvas.
The sound track of Range is synthesized by the motions of the virtual protagonists, the result is best described as a colored drone. Four speakers in the four corners of the space plus a subwoofer diffuse the sound.
The sound track of RANGE is synthesized from the motions of the
protagonists, building a colored drone.
